Lotu Privacy Policy
At Lot, customers and their representatives are on the pulse and the company protects their privacy. The same applies to partners, suppliers and representatives of such parties.All personal data held by the Company complies with the provisions of the applicable Data Protection Act No 90/2018 (hereinafter referred to as the “Data Protection Act” or the “Act”). Lota's management is committed to maintaining transparent and honest business relationships. This privacy policy therefore describes how Lota ehf., kt. 701283-1129, Guðríðartíg 2-4, 113 Reykjavík (also referred to as the “Company”) processes personal data.
Personal Information
Personal data within the meaning of the law is personally identifiable or personally identifiable information, which can be directly or indirectly traced to a specific individual. Examples of personal data that directly refer to an individual include information such as name, identification number, or email address.
Purposes of the collection of personal data
Bota may process the following information about individuals engaged in business with the Company:

In principle, Bota obtains information directly from customers, suppliers, partners or their representatives. In connection with customer billing issues, Lota may obtain information from third parties such as collection agents or from a default register.

The Company has implemented technical and structured procedures to protect personal data from uncontrolled or unlawful processing and to prevent unauthorized access to it. In the event of a security breach that may pose a risk to individuals, Lota will notify the person concerned without delay and respond. A security breach refers to a breach of security that results in the unintentional or unlawful deletion, loss, alteration or disclosure of personal data or unauthorized access to it.
Disclosure of personal data
Bota does not sell or share personally identifiable information to others, unless the company is required to do so by law. However, Lota may be used by third parties in connection with IT services, such as hosting, who act as processors and have rights and obligations as such under data protection law and under a processing agreement with Lota.
Rights of the Tolerant
Everyone has the right to be verified whether Lota has processed personal data about the person concerned and how the processing has been carried out. In certain circumstances, the Company may be required to obtain transmitted information, either provided by the person concerned to the Company itself or derived from a third party.
However, the above rights are not without precedent. Thus, the law may oblige the company to refuse a request for deletion or access to data.
